Senator Ceci Maher

Ceci has been immersed in our community from the very beginning. Growing up in Stamford, working  in New Canaan and Darien, volunteering in Westport, and raising her family first in Norwalk and later in Wilton, where she calls home.  After a successful career in retail running a multi-million dollar department, Ceci stayed home full time to raise her three children and volunteer in the local schools & community. 

Ceci earned her master degree from Columbia University in Social Work. Ceci led the national growth of educational opportunity programs at Horizons National Student Enrichment for 5 years and then worked 14 years as Executive Director at Person-to-Person. Ceci grew P2P from providing food for 174,000 meals to those in need, to providing food for more than a million meals. She tackled issues of food, clothing, and housing insecurity, focused on education access and summer programs for children, while building the agency to meet needs in 7 towns.  Ceci continued to use her leadership and management skills as Interim Executive Director of Sandy Hook Promise, teaching programs that prevent gun violence and teach Know the Signs to create safer schools for students and help for families. 

In 2022 Ceci was elected state senator of the 26th district, including Wilton, Westport, Weston, Redding, half of Ridgefield, and a portion of New Canaan, Darien, and Stamford.
